Diabetes Self Management Courses

62 families have been helped by their loved one learning how to cope with diabetes.  This free course is run for 2 ½ hours a week for 6 weeks and is designed to help people understand diabetes, learn skills and gain confidence in managing their condition.

Diabetes Conversations
These are group sessions that cover healthy eating, why healthy eating is important in managing diabetes and addresses challenges to healthy eating.

Dietitian Supermarket Tours
Supermarket tours are a free service run by your PHO.

 

Whakamana Hauora

“Whakamana Hauora” is a 6 week course for 2½ hours a week and is available for anybody suffering from a long term health condition who is enrolled in the CarePlus programme.  Also training to be a leader in “Whakamana Hauora” is available this consists of 4 study days.

B4 School Checks

A total of 2,027 Northland children received a B4 School check as at June 2012 and 390 referrals for further assessment were made.  Ensure your child is ready to start school with this free health and development check for 4 year olds.  Ph 0800 24 24 325 or check out our website to find out when and where the next B4 School Check Clinic is in your area.
